Getting back into portrait.

Went to a local 3hr portrait session and painted this:

Not particularly accurate and I felt rusty but it was good to get it done and I scraped it out when I got home. Kind of like that first waffle in the iron that you gotta throw out. I knew I'd need the warmup because later in the week I planned to have a model at my studio for a small group session. First time that I'd set up my space to work from a model and it went well. 3hr pose:

I liked this start so I kept working on it with the help of a reference photo. I'll include the final portrait in the next newsletter.
