A new figure painting. The initial umber drawing was completed during a 3-hour model session (Forgot to photo that first stage, sorry. Some of that drawing still visible in the pic below). Same awesome model as in "Ryan" and "The Peacock Device".

It was mostly painted with a knife (as you can see with the chunky paint). Finished with brushwork on the face.
New still life...not quite:
Ah yes, a new scrape-out! Hello again my friend, I haven't seen you in a little while. You were past due. This started as a knife-painting demo for my class. By the end of the next day I was going in circles, not feeling it. Trying to save a composition that I felt was fundamentally weak. Better to start a new one correctly rather than continue to "polish a turd". It is tempting to get attached to something because of the time already invested. Scraping out can be a small therapy.

Moving on. New possibilities awaiteth.
