Dear Subscribers,

Greetings!

Workshop stuff:
The February workshop in Texas filled up so quickly that we'll be announcing another identical workshop for later in 2015. We'll probably figure out the details in a few months.

My in-studio workshop is next weekend! So if I decide to skip next week's newsletter, you'll know why.

Gallery stuff:
There are now only three months left before my Solo Show at RS Hanna Gallery. It will be great to see some of you there. I'm excited about the work in this. The path through painting has been a process of trying to get closer and closer to how I want to paint, how I want to see. It is the carrot I will never totally catch (the carrot keeps evolving), but I can enjoy getting closer. And this work is the closest I've ever been. I have begun of tally of paintings in the show, and I'll be updating it as October approaches.

STUDIO Gallery is now in their new location (really close to the old location)! I sent them a new little painting (more on that in a bit) so I could get in on the celebration.

New cityscape.
Here is the raw photo reference:

Columbia Center. I love that building.

You'll notice there is feeling out process in these stages, trying out some different things before finding what works.

I needed a quick one. A true alla prima (the name for a painting done in one sitting: "at once"). And I was in the mood to do something from imagination.
New still life: "The Grape" (6x6):

This painting is currently en route to San Francisco! Ah, the beauty of fast-drying paint....I could get used to this.

JUST SOLD!:
  "The Flesh"

"Upside II" and "Cannonball"

Until next week,
