Dear Subscribers,
Greetings!
Apparently last week I forgot what month it is. August, not June. Yes.
New cityscape. Reaching back into my SF materials. The raw photo:
First stage (over an old painting....a wacky self portrait):

I'm making focus by targeting the following in one area: higher detail, sharper edges, richer color, higher value contrast.
And the finished painting, "Organism" 8x16. This painting is creepy to me. There is something foreboding about it. The absence of human figures and the stillness is disturbing. I'm not sure if others will get the same feeling from this.

"Organism" will debut at the City Streets show at STUDIO Gallery in San Francisco this September 4th-22nd, reception on the 7th.
Shipping. Lots of shipping:
6 paintings nestled snugly in one box.
First batch of big boxes on the way to Texas for the solo show.
One on the way to San Francisco:
..in a custom made box. ooooo. crafted with love.
I love silver frames on some paintings. I think maybe silver is underrated. These guys will be in the next batch to Texas:
Two of my paintings are finalists in The Artist's Magazine 31st Annual Art Competition.
"Traversing the Morning Shadow Behind the Bear" in the Landscape Category
"Pattern Two" in the Portrait/Figure Category (on the way to Texas)
Until next week,
