First stage. Large 30x30 inch panel. I toned the entire panel with red before starting, just for fun. I knew the painting would have lots of cool greens and blues. I thought there might be an opportunity to let some of that contrasting red shine through. And even though I ended up covering it completely, it did make the beginning stages more interesting to look at:
